time management with audit

 time management with audit

When I was preparing for my final exams, I was studying hard, but managing time was always a problem. I do already use some effective methods (I will share them with you for sure), but I want more. And because I do work on some side projects (writing, artwork, trying to start a business, etc.), I find myself thinking about my side project when I am studying and thinking about studying while working on my side projects, and what is worst is when I mix between these two tasks. I always end up accomplishing nothing. Therefore, I developed a method named cut-off, accountants, and auditors. They are familiar with this term because I brought it from their own field. first time heard of this concept was when i was studying this general audit ( by the way, if you ask, I did get a high mark)

Cut-off: It is an audit assertion used to make sure that the transactions are recorded in the correct accounting period.

This gives me an idea of how to use this principle and apply it to my time management concept, with a bit of change, of course.

So to end this task mixing, I associated each task witha specific time, and when the time is up, I moved on to next task. And if I did not accomplish (for any reason) the previous task, I do not put it with the next task; multitasking is the worst!

What I did was basically integrate a to-list into a calendar. and it works perfectly. Which allowed me to increase my productivity. I do this by ensuring that all tasks are clearly written and scheduled. I started using NOTION for that, and it was extremely helpful. And I can access my account from any device.

Benefits:

  • Increased focus and productivity can be achieved by avoiding multitasking.

  • improved efficiency with time.

  • Enhanced organization with a combined to-do list and calendar.

If you guys like this, I promise to share more with you. There is more to cover about this topic; both audit and internal control concepts have helped me take my productivity to another level.

Although I must emphasize that this may not be the concept of “cutting” as is the case in academic and professional fields...but it is what I came up with as an idea that came to my mind when I studied it.
